About Ms. Hallstrom

Marlene Hallstrom is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music with Music Teachers National Association. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, a Master’s of Music degree with an emphasis on Piano Pedagogy from the University of South Carolina- Columbia, and a Master’s of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. She has taught music in public schools and church settings and has maintained a piano studio for more than 40 years. Ms. Hallstrom is an active member of Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2019, and she is also a Colleague of the American Guild of Organists.

 

Ms. Hallstrom enjoys working with students from age six through adults, and she focuses on teaching musical competency as well as the enjoyment of music-making. Her students have opportunities to perform in recitals, festivals, and competitions as well as an annual Music Progressions event which encourages musical growth for students.

Scheduling & Rates

From September to June, she offers 36 weekly lessons across 2 semesters. Tuition is $90 per month or $425 per semester. Tuition covers private instruction, computer labs, parties, recitals, assignment notebooks, a lending library, prizes, and other related materials. Instructional books for each student are billed separately.
